DEITY AND TEMPLES OF KOCH KINGS
Something Interesting from History:
Madanmohan Temple during Ras Purnima Tithi |
From the reign of Maharaja Viswasimha to the reign of Maharaja Shivendra Narayan (1523 AD to 1648 AD), many kings and queens of Cooch Behar dynasty established many deities all over Cooch Behar at Different times. Those deities or temples become especially important for archaeology and other reasons. The service of some idols and the management of the temples were entrusted to the ‘Debuttor Trust board’ under the then Raj-Sarkar. The management of some temples is entrusted to the service in the allocation of monthly money, besides many idols become family idols. By introducing all those temples and idols, tourism system can be developed in this region.
